Rodent control questions from Morehead City

Is it rats or mice?

Rats are about twice the size of mice, with bodies around 10 inches long. Mice have bodies around three inches long and ears that look large for their size. Rats are also the ones you tend to hear in the attic at night.

Why do rodents come inside in the fall on the Crystal Coast?

Food outside gets scarce and they look for warmth and shelter. Norway rats are excellent climbers and often move into homes in the fall.

Can I just use traps or store bought poison?
